22nd Birthday

Happy 22nd birthday to me. Its my birthday tomorrow, and I was inspired by Kelly Purkey to make a list of 22 things to do this year. Most of the things are specific things I want to do, to live my life better, but some are simple easy things. I printed this out at 5 X 7 and wrapped it around a piece of chipboard. Right now its just the front and back of a little album, but I am going to fill it with photos and journaling over the next year. The finished size is just over 4 X 6, so its quick and easy to add some journaling to photos and put them in my little book.

Tomorrow I will hopefully be finishing a few scrapbook pages and I will post them when I'm done. Thanks for visiting!

celebrate this life

well I had a wonderful Thursday off work. My only chore all day was to do the dishes, and other than that I got to create and play all day. This morning I scrapbooked, I will post my page tomorrow.

In the afternoon I started playing with a journal, and I ended up finishing it. I NEVER finish something (except cards) the same time I start it, so this was quite satisfying for me! I'm really happy with how it came out. It is full of 36 crinkly brown paper pages, and for the cover I used one of my big sheets of paper from Paperchase in London. I used one of my stamps from my favorite ali edwards set, and I'm really happy with it.

Today was a very happy day. Creative and happy.

Color Cue

Happy Wednesday (happy because that means I dont have to work tomorrow and I get to create ALL day!).

I wanted to play along with a color challenge and I needed a masculine birthday card, so this is what I came up with. My circles look almost black, but they really are a dark brown.

On an unrelated note, I found the most gorgeous bags for DSLR cameras...I am in love. Maybe if I get a really good paying job I can splurge...

European treasures

Good Morning! Well I am back and slowly settle-ing back into creativity. I've had tons of ideas floating around in my head while I've been away and I am excited to start creating. I visited a few amazing papershops while I was in Europe and brought home some treasures.

I also found some beautiful envelopes and little notebooks...so many treasures! Tomorrow is my day off so I cant wait to have some time to play.

Also, a quick thank you card I made up for fathers day.

Thanks for visiting, happy hump day!

Happy long weekend!

So I'm not sure when everyone got together and voted the may long weekend was going to be called May 2-4, but I must of missed it. Its just called, The May Long Weekend. And thats all there is to it.
Anywho. I decided to get my "May 2 -4 weekend" off to a good start, by procrastinating my huge to do list for Europe, and having some craftiness time instead.
Last night I stumbled across a video tutorial for a "meander book" (which lead to me watching about a gazillion you-tube videos about all sorts of mini books), and I was quite intrigued. I sat down tonight and made my own little meander book. I must say, I love it. Apart from using quite a bit of adhesive (I have an irrational fear of running out of adhesive), and being so tiny, I love it to death. Its so easy, simple, there are a million possibilites for decorating it. Since tonight I didn't have much time, I've left my pages blank, and just used designer paper for the covers. Since there arn't many pages (8 double spreads), you could easily paint/stamp each page, and it wouldn't be too labour intensive. Perfect for adding quotes, memories, little mementos etc. Love it.

Thats it for now, hopefully if I'm really productive on my Europe to do list, I will have time to get a few more projects out of my brain before I head off to Europe.

Have an absolutely fabulous may long weekend. Ciao!

enjoy...the little things

Happy Tuesday. Its been a beautiful day here today, about 30 degrees this afternoon. Unfourtunatly the heat makes my apartment turn into a little sauna.
I stopped at the grocery store on my way home from work, and they had these little flowers on sale for .98 cents. I decided on a beautifully sunny day I needed a little flower for .98 cents. It made my day :) Its all about the little things.

Anyways, made a simple little card tonight. The color came out a bit weird in the picture.

Thats it for now. The rain storms are moving in now and the rest of the week is supposed to be cooler, and rain-ier.

a little journal

Well I haven't posted in a few weeks, and I figured it's finally time. Since I've been back from Fiji I've spent most of my free time watching the hockey playoffs.
And only two weeks tomorrow until I leave on vacation again, so I better get some craftiness done!
First, a picture of me in gorgeous Fiji, wearing one of the dresses I made myself. It was a bit fiddly to make, getting it to fit right in the front, but I love how it came out. Fits perfectly, thats the nicest thing about making your own clothes!

I bought some fabric I've been lusting after for ages last week, and I wanted a simple little project to play with one of them. I binded it by stapleing the signatures to a piece of ribbon.
I also found this store that I am completely in love with. I've already started my shopping list for when my friend goes to Houston and can go shopping for me.
Anywho, thats it for now. Thanks for visiting!
