Well I guess thats the last of my creating for the next ten days or so until the move is over and my stuff is unpacked on the other end.

creating yourself

Tonight I finished my little random painting of play and fun that I started last night. I finished it up using one of my favorite quotes. I bought the Unity stamp a few months ago, but hadn't used it yet. I love love love it. I'm happy with how it came out, and I had lots of fun just painting and playing.
Back to the packing... thanks for visiting

Tonight I was messy
So I had a friend who recently graduated from the RCMP training program, and during his 6 month "DEPOT" experience, he sent out weekly email "updates" (which were really more like short novels). At the end of it there were 24 looong emails, wonderfully written, just begging to be made into a little album. I was envisioning something more of a mini album/digital scrapbook, but there was just too much writing, so basically I just made it into a little novel for him. I have a few pictures from depot that I still need to print and include. I wanted it to have sort of a 'report, document' feel to it, so I bound it using one of those prong-y thingies. For the front I printed out his name, his troop number etc onto masking tape, and then attached it to the front. (I erased his personal information from the pictures.

I'm really happy with how it came out, I'm actually thinking now I might have to go to depot training, just so I can have a little book of my own when I'm done.
I've been inspired by Donna Downey lately. I'm hoping I can go to her Inspired Workshop in May. Anyways, I was inspired by her "Inspiration Wednesdays" video's, and so (instead of packing like I should be) I got out some paints and was just messy and played. This is really hard for me, my crafts are always neat and planned out. But I had fun just being messy. I'll have to do it more often. I'm waiting for it to dry, so I can had a some more to it. Hopefully I'll finish it up tomorrow.
**Sigh, and then I really need to start packing away my creative treasures

Scrapbooking Challenges
Well this is a busy week for me, between my birthday celebrations, giving my notice at work, new job interviews, and packing for my big move, there isn't much crafty time left over. I've been doing some scrapbooking lately, playing along with some of the challenges at http://www.scrapbookchallenges.ning.com/

This one has a little sticker instead of a title that says "a baby is always more trouble than you thought - and more wonderful"

This is one of my favorite auntie's drinking SourPuss at our last New Years Gala Party.

the journaling on this one says "this was one of our favorite spots in Rome. It was overcrowded and hot, but once you fought your way in for some prime real estate in front of the fountains, it was an impressive spot. A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome. We each threw our coins in over our shoulders. I missed the fountain with my first throw, so I caught my coin and tried again. Rome, May 30th 2010"
Anywho...I'm off to do some interview prep, wish me luck tomorrow! Hopefully I'll get home in time for some crafty fun!

22nd Birthday

Happy 22nd birthday to me. Its my birthday tomorrow, and I was inspired by Kelly Purkey to make a list of 22 things to do this year. Most of the things are specific things I want to do, to live my life better, but some are simple easy things. I printed this out at 5 X 7 and wrapped it around a piece of chipboard. Right now its just the front and back of a little album, but I am going to fill it with photos and journaling over the next year. The finished size is just over 4 X 6, so its quick and easy to add some journaling to photos and put them in my little book.

Tomorrow I will hopefully be finishing a few scrapbook pages and I will post them when I'm done. Thanks for visiting!

celebrate this life
well I had a wonderful Thursday off work. My only chore all day was to do the dishes, and other than that I got to create and play all day. This morning I scrapbooked, I will post my page tomorrow.
In the afternoon I started playing with a journal, and I ended up finishing it. I NEVER finish something (except cards) the same time I start it, so this was quite satisfying for me! I'm really happy with how it came out. It is full of 36 crinkly brown paper pages, and for the cover I used one of my big sheets of paper from Paperchase in London. I used one of my stamps from my favorite ali edwards set, and I'm really happy with it.

Today was a very happy day. Creative and happy.
