Sunday Sketch

I haven't done any scrapbooking in a long time, so I wanted to play along with this week's Sunday Sketch at Studio Calico. Its a simple layout, and it was impulsive of me to use my own writing...but the white and the bright patterned papers make me happy.

a sunday sketch

Happy Saturday! Its been a busy week but my mind has been swirling with all sorts of crafty things. I did want to get this Sunday Sketch done that I started earlier in the week, for the sketch over at Studio Calico.

I used some photos from a night out with two of my most favorite ladies. Its simple, I dont love it, but I'm happy with it.
Time to get some chores done so then hopefully there is time for more craftiness. Enjoy your Saturday!

at the beach

Hola. I wanted to play along with the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch this week.

I came up with this page using pictures from the beach on our trip to Puerto Plata last Feb. Oh how I would love to be on vacation this week, its been nasty cold here.

I found this very exciting candle on clearance today during my lunch hour. It was sort of the high point of my day. That and some exciting napkins (also on clearance) for a special napkin party this weekend.

Thats all for now, thanks for stopping by!

a day late

Well I had wanted to play along with this weeks Studio Calico Sunday sketch, and I did, but I didn't get it done last night as I had planned. Instead I spent last night listening to my grandpa's stories.

Got lots to get done today, and its already noon! Better get to it! Thanks for visiting!

#8 Scrapbook my travels

We'll I've decided to get on track with #8 from my 22 List; Scrapbook my travels. Last week I used Studio Calico's Sunday Sketch to start my Europe scrapbooking, and this week I used the Sunday Sketch to start my Fiji Scrapbooking. I'm all over the world, in my digital playtime I've been starting my Egypt Scrapbooking. Hopefully if I can play along often enough with the weekly sketches, that will keep me on track!

Journaling Reads:

"It was an overcast day on Plantation Island b the time our hotel inspections were done, but I headed down to the beach as soon as we were finished. The water was so calm and warm I couldn't resist going in for a swim. Some of the other girls and I swam out to a floating dock and jumped in to the warm water. It was one of my favorite beaches in Fiji. April 2010"

For the title I used the best free font website http://www.kevinandamanda.com/fonts/. Love love love all the free fonts!

Anywho, thats it for now, have a great weekend!

Studio Calico Sketch

Happy Thursday! I've been doing so much stuff on the computer lately, I've been craving some good old fashioned scrapbooking. I have played along with the Sunday Sketch at Studio Calico.

I bought these White Frames from Ikea before I moved from Edmonton, and I've been trying to find the perfect thing to put in them since. I was thinking black and white travel pictures, but they just seemed so cluttered still.
During my Illustrator class I learned how to do a trace of my pictures, so I've traced three of my pictures from my most recent trip to Europe, and I'm pretty happy with them.

Digitial

Lately I've been doing lots of playing with digital scrapbooking. Mostly because working on the computer is easier than unpacking and organizing all my "real" supplies. But I've been having lots of fun doing the digital stuff, playing with new tools and looking at all the product.

The good news is that I am slowly starting to get all my other stuff unpacked, so I'm hoping for some old fashioned creating time this long weekend!

Thanks for visiting!

Scrapbooking Challenges

Well this is a busy week for me, between my birthday celebrations, giving my notice at work, new job interviews, and packing for my big move, there isn't much crafty time left over. I've been doing some scrapbooking lately, playing along with some of the challenges at http://www.scrapbookchallenges.ning.com/

This one has a little sticker instead of a title that says "a baby is always more trouble than you thought - and more wonderful"

This is one of my favorite auntie's drinking SourPuss at our last New Years Gala Party.

the journaling on this one says "this was one of our favorite spots in Rome. It was overcrowded and hot, but once you fought your way in for some prime real estate in front of the fountains, it was an impressive spot. A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome. We each threw our coins in over our shoulders. I missed the fountain with my first throw, so I caught my coin and tried again. Rome, May 30th 2010"
Anywho...I'm off to do some interview prep, wish me luck tomorrow! Hopefully I'll get home in time for some crafty fun!

A Scrapbook Sketch

Happy Thursday. I've been busy sewing (hope to have it finished to share soon), but I also found a scrapbooking sketch I liked, so decided to play along. I have had these pictures of me and Tinky out sliding when I was home for christmas, and I knew I wanted to get a page done with them. I added an extra page to make it into a double layout, so I could include my larger picture of us together. I'm happy with how they came out. I titled it "My snow angel" because I always call her my little angel, or angel pie, so I though snow angel was a good one. Anywho...thats it for now, thanks for visiting.

Odds & Ends

Hello & Happy Thursday. Thanks for stopping by. I have a confession to make. My fabrics have been stealing me away from my papercrafting. I dont have too much to share today, because I have been spending more and more time with my sewing machine. And I cant share my current sewing project because it just may be a christmas present for someone who visits my blog. Hopefully I will have some sewing stuff to share soon. What I will tell you for now, is to check out the free patterns on Amy Butler's website, my current project was inspired by one of her free patterns.

I did come back to my papercrafting table long enough to play along with this week's sketch at Mojo Monday. I'm pretty happy with how it came out, simple, but I like it. I love that bright pile of presents!

As of yesterday, it was six weeks until I go home for christmas. This week I have made a little scrapbook challenge to myself, I want to have 21 more (double) scrapbook pages done by christmas, so I can take them home and show off to my family. My goal is 3 double pages per week, and the last week before I leave 6 double pages. So I have just finished my second double page for this week, so I am on track so far. I dont normally share my scrapbooking, but since I dont have much else this week, figured I would.

This page is "Best Friends" and showcases my three 'major' best friends while growing up. My
photography isn't great, the pages look much better in person.

Well I'm off, got lots of other crafty projects swirling in my head, better get to it! Thanks for visiting!
