a little baby gift

I needed a simple little baby gift, and I didn't have much time to invest in a design. I took my dragon pattern and reworked the letter background to include the letters in baby's name, and put my favorite little dragon in front. And here is my little society 6 onesie. 

I was a bit disappointed in the colors, they seem a bit muted. I'll have to do a bit more experimenting. 

I printed off a little congratulations tag, and wrapped it up with some twine. 

I always love seeing my designs on 'real' things. I hope it makes the new parents as happy as it's made me! 

finally finished

After months of procrastinating, my first (and quite possibly, last) quilt is finished. I'm sure it never would of happened without my wonderful mom who spent an afternoon teaching me to do the binding, and making sure I didn't give up.

It's an imperfect quilt, as I knew it would be. I didn't do any planning, and just randomly stitched random sizes of fabric together.
But I'm very happy with it. And very happy it's finished. And with that, I am crossing #22 Finish my quilt, off my list.

Today I just needed to play, so I painted this little African lady on a book page. I hope to paint some more little African ladies soon.

she flies through the air

In Maui, I climbed to the top of a very high ladder, to a very small platform, I stretched way out and grabbed a heavy bar, I bent my knees, someone yelled "HUP", and I jumped from my platform, and flew through the air on the flying trapeze. (I also screamed the whole way).
This was one of the funnest, most amazing things I've ever done, and I highly recommend running away and joining the circus!

i am here

I escaped to Maui for a while, but now I am back. I am struggling to find the time and perseverance to finish anything these days. I have canvas's waiting to be painted, and a quilt waiting to be quilted. I have a drawing class with Jane Davenport calling my name. I have designs half finished, while others still sit in my sketchbook.

I think I need a new plan, a new way to prioritize and make more things happen. I need to start just getting sh*t done. 

And on that note, I'd thought I'd share where I'm at on my 25 list. As I also need to make things happening there.
