Finally, I'm just about ready for Christmas. Here are some of my handmade papers and things. If only I had time to make all of the wrapping papers I have swirling in my mind.
My heart is in Africa, and these days, Africa is calling my name very loudly. I've been doodling lots of African style ladies, but I'm really happy with this one. I haven't decided yet what to do with her. For now, I just enjoy looking at her.
Well I'm back at it. Only working on my face painting right now. Life seems too busy these days, and trying to finish two awesome paintings at a time seems way too ambitious.
Still a long way from done, but she's moving in the right direction.
I've been busy eating, shopping and adventuring in New York City. I'm back to real life now and ready to get busy painting and drawing again. In the meantime, some pictures.
A couple weeks ago I turned a photograph of part of my painting, into a card. I quite like how even though that part of the painting doesn't exist anymore, I still have this lovely card design. I put it together with some hand-doodled wrapping paper as a little gift for one of my favorite Auntie's birthday gift.
Well my paintings are still a long way from finished, but that's ok. This week I didn't have much time as I prepare to head off to New York City for some food, shopping, and hockey, but I did work on my face painting a bit. She is still a long way from complete, but I'm very happy with her and where she is headed.
I was quite thrilled to see Society 6 had changed their totebags, from the old style where your design was just a square in the middle of the bag, to a new style where your designs go right to the edge. So I just had to order myself one of these lovely new tote bags, in one of my favorite patterns - Falling Feathers.
Technically, this is the last week of the class. But I am behind in the lessons, and obviously my paintings are not finished yet, so I will keep plugging away at it.
The chaos continues. I continue working on my two canvases. Some stages I like them, some I don't. Some parts I like, others I don't.
I do really like the hanging leaves on canvas two.
Who knows what will happen next...or where they will go from here...
