Brazil!

Well I'm off to spend the next two weeks travelling through Brazil. I'll be blogging my adventures at www.brazilbriana.blogspot.com

This little graphic was created as a sharpie sketch, scanned and manipulated to become the cover for my little notebook I will be using during the next two weeks.

a loud mind

Sometimes I feel like my mind is shouting, exploding with all the ideas and directions it is trying to go. 

This quote is perfect for me. People always say I'm too quiet...but really I'm not quiet at all. Its very loud in my mind. 

It started with this doodle months ago

whats in your curtains?

I often lay in bed, and look at my curtains and see what I can find there.

Inspired by looking for shapes this week, I decided to sketch out the imaginary things I see in my curtains.

I see peculiar little men.

Which turned into a little bunny.

and I see flowers

And of course, I see jellyfish.

This week I've been busy looking at shapes and patterns, and getting my own ideas swirling.

This design started out with a  photowalk to the park, looking for shapes.

Then a quick flowery doodle was born.

And then it was done neater, repeated

 and colored.

I'm sure this will continue to evolve from here, can't wait to see where it goes!

whats up in september

Wow, I can't believe its September. September will be a short and busy month for me.

My goals for September:

• Stay creating daily with Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design 
• Get packed for Brazil 
• Put up art in my craft room 
• Finish my monthly life book 
• get a notebook ready for Brazil 

I know I won't have time for much else besides my online class and getting ready to head off on my next adventure, so I'm not making any ambitious goals this month (since they wouldn't get done anyways).
