ButterCup Bag and a Card

Hello all! Well I've spent way too much of my creating time this weekend watching the Olympics, but I have managed to get a few things done.

I love the ButterCup bag pattern so much I had to make another one. I added some interfacing to this one to make it a bit more substantial. I also did bias tape to the top edges and used a button closure instead. I really like how it came out. My sister is giving it to one of her friends as a belated birthday gift so I needed to make a card to go along with it.
Well thats it for this weekend. Hopefully I will have lots of time/energy for creating this weekend. Thanks for visiting!

Cuteness!

Hello and Happy Weekend. I have some cuteness to share today from "1 Yard Wonders". Meet my new friend, Elodie the Elephant. Is she not the most cute-est thing you've seen. Yay to my sister who found her fabric on sale for $4/metre. And the pattern calls for 1 yard, but it only actually takes about 1/4 of a metre.

I knew she would go perfectly with the little elephant card (template from Papertrey Ink), so I had to make up a little matching card for an adorable Welcome Baby Gift. Only problem? I dont know any babies! Oh well - her green and white color theme match my bed set, so maybe I will keep her for myself. She is a real cutie! (The color is a bit off in this one, the card is a not so blindingly yellow)
Anyways thats all I have to share today, I will be back tomorrow with something else sew-y. Have a good weekend!

Happy Valentines

Hola! I have a couple Valentine cards to share today.

I am in love with this little elephant that is from Papertrey Ink's Click Simple. He is just so cute, and I know my grandma (yes I send valentine cards to my grandparents) will enjoy this little cutie.

This little guy is from MFT and my sister bought him for me. She loves bunnies and I love cupcakes so he's perfect!

Okay, well I have to finish packing. I am off tomorrow for a week of lying in the sun, drinking margaritas and sunbathing with my sister! When I'm back I will have a picture of the little cover up dress I made!

Her Name is Lola...

...She was a showgirl. Welcome to the beginning of my new hobby.
Last week Kristin came up to the apartment and asked me how I felt about climbing in the dumpster. I felt pretty good about it, so we headed on down. I peered inside the recycle bin - and there she was. This pretty little lady calling out to me. She'd been used and abused, with the cigarette burns to prove it. So I jumped into the dumpster (which was a bit trickier than expected), and rescued her.
The next day we headed off to Ikea to buy my new fabric to make her beautiful & to Home Depot to buy me a staple gun. That's right, I now own a staple gun - and know how to use it. One week later she is finished and she is so beautiful and comfy! I love her!

So here is my brand new, refurbished Chair - Lola! (I'm not sure why, but I've decided to name my refurbished furniture, kindoff Ikea-ish I suppose, except cuter names than Ikea has)

This is the start of a repurposing of furniture addiction I'm sure!

On a totally different note - I am in week five of Maggie Holmes Photography class and I am loving it. I am now shooting in Manual, and seeing the results in my pictures. Kristin has been a wonderfully patient and willing model throughout, I took the same picture in automatic and manual to try and see if there was really any difference. I can see a huge difference in the color of her skin and eyes in the Manual!
Thats it for now! Thanks for visiting!
