Fabulous Faces Week 6

 

 

This week I worked on the 6th (and final) week of Fabulous faces. This week was about incorporating collage, and other background layering techniques. I decided to go back to the three quarter portrait, as that seems to be the one most challenging for me.

 

I'm pretty happy with the end product. And really happy with what I've learned from Fabulous Faces.

 I spent some lovely time sketching and right now, I'm really happy with this one. One day I will try to recreate her in painting form, but for right now, she's making me very happy.

My design mojo still seems to be missing, so I am still just playing with basic geometric shapes and seeing what develops.

Fabulous Faces Week 5

This week's assignment was to use only one color (varying shades) to create your portrait, and include an object/animal/collage aspects.

Circle Clusters

It seems like most of my indoor time these days is spent sorting, cleaning, and throwing stuff away from my studio and my whole house. I am trying to declutter and simplify. I think I'm making good progress, the only downside is it feels like there isn't much time left for creating.

Fabulous Faces Week 4

This week the lesson was on a profile portrait. I had fun with this one, filling the hair with flower doodles.

I'm looking forward to the last two weeks of the class and more practice and play. I am quite amazed so far.

25 so far

I've been enjoying the beautiful summer weather, and not spending as much time in my studio these days. I have crossed a few summery things off of my 25 list.
