Once again, I participated in the Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap. This time, the theme was Celebrate. I didn't love the theme as much as I did last time (discover), so I struggled for inspiration. I kept it pretty simple, and I'm sending this off to the UK.

Bloom True - Week 1
This has been the first week of Bloom True with Flora Bowley. So far, we've put two layers of paint on two large canvases. I've never really painted a large canvas before, so it's all new to me.
After the first week, this is where I'm at. It's a bit challenging for me since I don't know the next steps, and how this is all going to come together, but I am practicing being brave and trusting in the process and just knowing that they will bloom into something I love.

the art of scientific illustration
Last weekend my mom and I took a lovely afternoon class, looking at insects and learning a little bit about drawing them. It was something completely different, and very fun. I'm very happy with my insects.
this beautiful butterfly is my mom's work.

seeds of happiness
Today was a mixed bag. Some really fun moments, and a lot of frustrating moments. One of the good parts was creating these little seedlings of happiness.
And now I'm off to eat cookie dough and drink margaritas.
Cheers!

In the works
I had this wonderfully delicious, large, piece of cardboard sitting around my studio, just begging to be painted. I splashed some paint on, got messy and played. I don't think it's quite finished yet. I hope to work on the background a bit more, perhaps with some Bloom True techniques. But for now, I am just loving it.
