the beginnings of blobimals
This week I'm busy booking holidays, taking care of a sick pup, dealing with a child that won't eat his dinner, going to work meetings, trying new recipes, but most importantly making time daily for Carla Sonheim's Blobimal Artist Book camp this week.
I don't have much to share yet, but it's pretty fun.
Can you see the makings for any blobimals? I can!

Week 3 Fabulous Faces
This week the lesson was on 3/4 portraits. Always need more practicing, but pretty happy so far.
This week I'm thinking I may take a break from faces to make Blobimals with Carla Sonheim.

little cartoon cuties

I doodled my pup into a little cartoon character (wearing a top hat of course). I quite adore him. So then I needed to create a little kitty softpaws (the crazy cat that lives upstairs).
It was fun to just play with some digital stuff, as I have been away from my computer for a while.

Fabulous Faces: Week 2
I painted this face with acrylics, instead of watercolors which is what the class taught (because the paper I was working on couldn't handle the water)...so I still need to practice the watercolor way. I'm relatively happy with her, and looking forward to playing more!

elephant collage
Inspired by the lovely Asian elephants I met last week in Thailand, I wanted to play and create a little elephant collage piece to play along with the elephant challenge on Willowing.

Week 1 Fabulous Faces
Practically as soon as I walked in the door from Thailand, I signed up for Fabulous Faces at Willowing Arts. I couldn't wait to get started.
Week 1 involves only shading with pencil, no painting yet, which made me a bit nervous, but I'm actually really happy with how it came out.

Now I'm torn between drawing more, and getting on with the things I "should" be doing!

travel journal
For the last ten days I've been soaking up the sun in southern Thailand. Now I'm home and trying to get caught up on work, life, laundry and sleep. I've just signed up for Fabulous Faces online class. I've got a brand new journal that I can't wait to start working in. I've got all sorts of things I want to get going on, but right now I don't have much to share so thought I would just share a bit of my little travel journal.
Filled with ticket stubs, envelopes, boarding passes, maps, business cards, money and other little paper goodness.
