Photo Inspiration 2

 

I loved the look of these beautiful starfish arms in an aquarium at Disneyworld. I also loved the blues and pinks together.

 

I started doodling them on the side of my work notebook.

 

I'm not 100% happy with the end product. I feel like something is missing. But for now, it's good.

The time left in my 24th year is quickly winding down. I have just over three months, and many things left on my list. It seems like spring is coming as well, so I figured I better get to it and build a snow fort.

It was actually harder than I expected finding an adequate pile of snow, large enough for an adult sized snow fort.

photo inspiration

I take photos all the time, especially while travelling, of animals, plants, sealife, and other inspiring odds and ends. I've decided to start once a week taking one of these photo inspirations, and actually making some doodles from it. Some weeks it may be just a doodle. Some weeks hopefully it will inspire a pattern or collection.

Lots going on in my little life these days. Survived my family adventure to Disneyworld. Booking lots of other little trips, including the Create retreat in California. The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design class is over, and my days feel a bit empty without it. I have lots of dreams, schemes, and things to do, but I haven't managed to figure out where I am and get started on anything yet.

I was pleased to see that my work was featured in the third issue of MOYO online magazine. You can check out the student showcase on page 68. The whole magazine is full of wonderful pattern inspiration!
