I am continuing to play, and not overthink it, and just make some art. I am quite happy with how this piece ended up.

a beautiful thing is never perfect
I've often felt as if I need to wait to make the paintings I have in my head until I am "more talented", or "a better painter", or the ever elusive - when I have more time. Lately I've come to realize I'm never going to be able to perfectly make the images in my head come to life in paint, and especially if I'm not practicing! So instead of saving my "painting ideas" for the perfect time, when I am magically incredibly talented, I am just going to start.
So here's a little painted lady on a little piece of wood. I cant quite decided if I am going to add any words or anything else, so for now, it's finished.

a little baby gift
I needed a simple little baby gift, and I didn't have much time to invest in a design. I took my dragon pattern and reworked the letter background to include the letters in baby's name, and put my favorite little dragon in front. And here is my little society 6 onesie.
I was a bit disappointed in the colors, they seem a bit muted. I'll have to do a bit more experimenting.
I printed off a little congratulations tag, and wrapped it up with some twine.
I always love seeing my designs on 'real' things. I hope it makes the new parents as happy as it's made me!

finally finished
After months of procrastinating, my first (and quite possibly, last) quilt is finished. I'm sure it never would of happened without my wonderful mom who spent an afternoon teaching me to do the binding, and making sure I didn't give up.
It's an imperfect quilt, as I knew it would be. I didn't do any planning, and just randomly stitched random sizes of fabric together.
But I'm very happy with it. And very happy it's finished. And with that, I am crossing #22 Finish my quilt, off my list.

The Little Crocodile
How Doth The Little Crocodile
Lewis Carroll
Lewis Carroll
How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin,
How neatly spread his claws,
And welcome little fishes in
With gently smiling jaws!
How neatly spread his claws,
And welcome little fishes in
With gently smiling jaws!

african lady painting
Today I just needed to play, so I painted this little African lady on a book page. I hope to paint some more little African ladies soon.
